El actor estadounidense Forest Whitaker, ganador de un Oscar como "El último rey de Escocia" en 2007, incursionará como director de una película que también protagonizará sobre la vida del jazzista Louis Armstrong, informó este miércoles la prensa de Hollywood.
Whitaker, de 47 años, debutará como cineasta y encarnará a Armstrong en "What a Wonderful World" para la productora con sede en París Legende, que sacó adelante la elogiada cinta francesa "La Vie en rose", indicó la biblia del entretenimiento en Hollywood, Variety.
"Armstrong dejó una marca monumental en nuestras vidas y en nuestra cultura", dijo Whitaker, quien en 1988 encarnó en la película de Clint Eastwood "Bird" a la otra leyenda del jazz Charlie Parker
